Let's Come Together

I'm so excited to get married! We only have 44 days which is like no time at all and I am really nervous about all of the planning that needs to get done, but I am so excited to be with Scott and go through the temple!

44 Days!!!!!!!!

I had such a cool experience this week as I was driving around looking for ties for our bridal party. We found two ties that are perfect for the day and now need seven more and of course they are nowhere to be found. :-( Anyways, as I was driving from one mall to the other I pass by the San Diego temple (which is where Scott and I will be  getting married) and all of a sudden I could not stop smiling! I had this huge rush of emotion that I have never felt before. I love driving by and seeing the temple, but this time it was so different. I looked at it and became giddy and kind of started to tear up a little. It was so incredible to feel that confirmation yet again and know how much my Heavenly Father loves, cares, and knows me. 

Seeing the temple was such a huge blessing because I was getting discouraged by not being able to find ties and all of the wedding planning is very overwhelming. I know I have done this to myself with all of the last minute planning and waiting for so long too. Invitations have not even been sent out... YIKES! We will be getting them out VERY soon though. Needless to say that was very needed and such a comfort to me in these times of well in a way trial. Being away from Scott is hard too. We hardly get to talk because he works so much and when he has breaks normally I am out and about. Texting is even hard for us to do because I don't check my phone as often and one of his jobs he is part of their customer service call sender group so he never can text. However, even though we cannot talk or text a lot listening to a voicemail, reading a text and our small conversations are the best. I love when I open up a text and Scott sent me some sweet message or just told me how he loves me. The small things matter the most. 

I cannot wait to go back up to Utah and spend some time with him before I come back down a couple of weeks before the wedding. I know all of this crazy time will be over soon and it will be so very worth it! I love Scott and our awesome fun times together. You know what even our trials are fun in a way because we get to grow more and learn about each other. I know that is mainly "honeymoon stage" talking, but hey a girl can only be in this stage for so long and I am going to enjoy it as much as I can now! 

Daily Routines

Hey Hey my blogger readers! It has been a very long time I know, but how could I resist not keeping up with my once a month blogging? Okay well starting today I am going to change things and try to blog at least once a week again. It will probably on Sundays. What have I been doing this last month... oh yeah be crazy busy planning my wedding! Well with all of this wedding planning where has it lead me to you ask... to a lot of looking on pintrest, crying, and trying to make this whole thing work, which has been EXTREMELY DIFFICULT!!! These are the things I know for sure on July 28th, 2012

Basically everything else I have an idea set, but I just need to pay for it all. That is the very hard part. Anyways, that is a whole different story.

Besides all the wedding planning I of course see Scott everyday. That is one of the best things about moving up here is how we are so close and can go to each other place without even having to get into a car. We can just walk across the street. :-) We basically have the same routine, Scott goes to work from Monday thru friday 5:45am-10:30am, has school on Monday/Wednesday/Thursday from 11-12:30 and then goes to work again Monday thru Thursday 3-9. Monday thru Fridays I plan wedding stuff. Once Scott gets home from work we want one episode of our new favorite TV series...

Yes, I am in love with this show now and it is one of my favorite things to do with Scott because when he comes home from work I know he is exhausted. This show is super funny and always is making us laugh plus it is just nice for Scott to come home and relax. On Saturdays Scott always says he gets to "sleep in" because he has work at 7am instead of 5:45am. That crazy kid! Anyways, on Saturdays he works from 7-11pm. TALK ABOUT A LONG DAY! However, at this work I am able to go be with him from his 7pm-11pm shift and chill with him while he just makes sure nothing is happening in the HFAC (a building at Scott's school). Yes, I know you are super jealous of me right now and Scott and my super exciting date nights! haha Well we make do with what we have I guess. I sure do love that make and our daily routines.

Finals and Wedding planning

Wow life has been super busy ever since I have been engaged. Here is one of our engagement pictures. This one is from the exact spot Scott proposed to me too. He sent me on an amazingly thoughtful scavenger hunt that started with yellow balloons at the apartment where we meet. It was awesome anyways enjoy! :-)

The week after Scott proposed I went on my spring break and that whole trip was dedicated to seeing my family and looking at places for my reception and all other venues and such. :-) It was so hectic. Planning a wedding takes so much work and makes life crazy! I now admire all mom's who have multiple girls and have planned multiple wedding receptions for them. I have decided I do NOT want any girls because planning for my wedding is hard enough! YUCK!!!

When I was home I wish I had spent more time with my family instead of stressing about planning the wedding. However, the time I did spend with them was amazing! I was able to see three of my nephews and my niece. It was so great to have the family back together again, well minus one of us sadly. Our little Colton Farnsworth was blessed and that is why everyone was home. I loved seeing Ethan and Gabby play with each other and boy are they getting big! Both of them are also little chatter boxes now. I love watching those kids grow up. It makes me excited to have kids, but I know I do not want them for a few years that is for sure. They are great when I get to hand them back to my siblings when they aren't so cute and fun to be around.

After spring break it was back to school and boy that was not fun! I love my roommates though and we have so much fun together. I wish I was able to spend more time with them and stayed down at school during the weekends more. I love how we can sit and do homework together in our apartment and all of us end up laughing our heads off. For instance right now we are doing homework and listening to music and every now and then we "dance" in our chairs. It is a blast! We do more stuff together too. Last week was the only weekend where we were all home in a VERY long time. There was an institute dance and so we went and it was so much fun to go dancing again. I love dances and the last one I had been to was New Years Eve so I was way over due for another fun dance.

Wow I am going to miss these ladies! We've had a great year! 

Another big part of my life right now has been homework and finals, YUCK!!! I just took my Biology test today and boy has that class been awful! My teacher was horrible! Let's just say she decided to leave for vacation to Europe two weeks ago so we were robbed of studying and preparing with the teacher for the week before finals. She also didn't teach hardly anything that was on our final. Yes, I know this happens sometimes, but it does not really happen here at Snow. Almost every kid as they turned in their finals was telling Professor G (a professor who had to administer our test since our professor is gone already) that we had not learned or our teacher specifically told us that we didn't need to memorize or know a certain topic for the final and sure enough it was on there. It was just so frustrating. Lucky for me though I have a different Biology Lab teacher than my lecture teacher and three weeks ago I went and talked with him about how I was totally lost about the topics he was teaching in the lab. He asked me what we had and had not learned and he was concerned for me. He said that my chances of passing the finals were "slim to none". Yup, big confidence boost right there. Anyways, he invited me to come to his lecture class and I was more than happy to do that! Making this long story shorter, it was a HUGE blessing that I went to his lectures because I was saved by his review sessions. By going I actually knew what exactly I needed to study for the final and I feel like I did pretty well. I don't find out for sure until next week though.

Well that seems to be my life lately... Oh I did go wedding dress shopping with Laurie (Scott's sister), Rebecca (Scott's sister-in-law), and his mom. It was a lot of fun going with them. I love the Hansen family. They are all so close and love just being with each other. Scott, well I guess I do too, live only a block away from Brett (Scott's brother) and Rebecca's home so we go over often. Scott and Brett go to a lot of BYU ruby games together so it is fun to be around them. Also, Laurie and I are pretty close too. Laurie and Trevor (her husband) only live about 40 minutes or so away and we have seen them a few times too. I love having family, well Scott's family so close. Anyways, dress shopping was crazy and in a way unbelievable. It is so weird how tomboy me is now growing up and trying on wedding dresses... CRAZY!

Hi! Yes, I don't post a lot anymore and it kinda makes me sad, but at the same time I get super busy and to be honest not a whole lot is going on in my life. Same family, school, Scott, roommates, and you know just normal everyday life in the life of Caitlan. Um lets see here what is new... um to be honest I really have nothing so for now all I am going to do is just list a whole bunch of random things I love.

Oh actually there is something I can talk about! So two weekends ago... yeah two weekends ago I went down with Scott for his sisters wedding and it was really fun. The road trip and being with him great, but I have to say my favorite part was meeting all of his family and friends down there. I already meet all of his siblings and such so this time I was able to meet his grandparents and aunts and uncles and such! I love them all so much! They were so wonderful! The whole time I basically heard stuff like "Oh your Caitlan we have heard about you" and "you have a great man there" and the things his grandpa told me were my favorite. He is just such a sweet old man! I love how he treated me just like one of his grandkids. He would come up and give me hugs all the time and just kiss my head. It was so great! My favorite thing he said was probably every time he mentioned how Scott was one of his favorite grandkids. So great!

Yup that's the life of Caitlan right now. Sorry not a lot of pictures this time. I should have some the next time though! :-)

Time for a New One

Wow so many things have happened since I have last written... For starters I finish my fifth semester at Snow and it went a thousand times better than I thought. My Physics class that I thought I was going to fail, well I got a B haha not even close to a failing grade. :-)

Then came the WONDERFUL Christmas break! Oh I loved being at home with my mom and just spending time talking with her. It was so great just being at home and relaxing. I love my mom. She is such a lucky dog because she gets to relax all day (well not sure it is relaxing considering she doesn't really like it). Anyways, it was just fun because for the first part of my break it was just my parents and me.

Funny thing was I actually loved having it that way. Yes I missed my siblings, but for once there really wasn't any fighting or mess around the house. It was a peaceful Christmas.

Then came my favorite part of the break... Yup Scott came home. :-)

He was home for a week getting to see where I live and what is around San Diego. We had a lot of fun! He was able to meet my mom for the first time and that is a big deal considering she cannot go anywhere to visit so it was very nice for them to meet each other. The bigger deal though was Scott and I didn't "set her off".

(My mom is allergic to pretty much all chemicals so it is hard for her to really travel and have people over, let alone stay over. When she gets an allergic reaction because someone has some kind of chemical smell it "sets her off". This could be something as simple as someone's deodorant. So YES it was HUGE deal!)

Anyways, the gift giving was a cool part too. I got my favorite movie of all time on DVD, of course it is THE LION KING, and a really cool expensive camera so all durning the break we were able to use it! Scott gave me my third favorite gift (well that is to say if it could be favorites).

He spent many hours working on it and even some of his family members got involved helping him get finished with it before he came over. It is this amazing wood box! I love it! Can you believe he actually made it?!!!! Literally for the first five minutes or so all I could say was WOW... You can even ask him for yourself. The whole time he was laughing at me while my jaw was dropped and I was speechless. Which may or may not be a rare occasion when I am with him especially because we love talking with each other.

Speaking of talking with each other and how much Scott and I love it can you guess how long we talked on the phone for over the ten days we didn't see each other over the break??? Haha if you guessed a little over 1,600 minutes you are correct. I told you, we just love talking with each other.

I think that is enough writing for now. Pictures are the most fun anyways right? I hope you had a great break too and are getting into the swing of things a lot faster than I am... I'm not sure I still am in the whole "lets get studying" mode.
