End of One, Start of Another

Moving away from Snow was not as hard for me as it was last year, but today it hit me harder that I am not going back till August. Wow I already miss my friends a ton! Sadly I don't have any goodbye picture with any of them because my camera decided to break down on me a week before school ended. Really? Perfect timing camera! I still have it though in hopes that it will magically be fixed or become fixed. I made so many great friends at school this last year and am soooo sad I don't have pictures with a few of them. Another thing about coming here is how hard it has been for me to also come to the reality that Ang and I will never be roommates again. It has been a weird start already not having her with me. Especially since I was going to make waffles last night and I didn't have her waffle maker so I didn't get any waffles. Just kidding that isn't really why I miss her, but I do miss the friendship we share. We shared so many things it was great! Today when I went grocery shopping I didn't have her with me to plan some meals to share together or to buy snacks together. Lets just say this is going to be very weird for me to get used to and I'm not really happy about it. On top of al of this I was extremely bored all day because both of my roommates were gone all day until about three hours ago.

Speaking of my roommates they are so great! Oh I really like them already! There is only three of us so far and they share a room so that means I have a room all to myself. However, seeing my luck with keeping a room to myself my chances of getting a roommate are pretty high. To be honest I actually would love to get a room roommate. Weird huh?! Haha Anyways back to Bethany and Bresia (??? I still need to get to know how to spell their names). They are so cool! We hit it off from the start. They made this summer to do list and it is pretty much everything that I want to do and then more fun things! It is so great! They are so easy to get along with! The only down side is they are best friends so I kind of seem like a third wheel at times... Oh well though. I just really hope this summer I am able to make a lot of friends because I know they will be busy a lot of the time with work and school.

I really need friends this summer because I'm not going to be that busy at all seeing as I'm taking two classes till the end of June which should keep me busy, but after that I'm not doing anything! It is going to be so important to make good friends and hopefully church on Sunday will help me make them! Oh I am so excited for church! Yay for being a member! Lets just hope I make as many great friends this summer as I made this last year at Snow. I think being in the Relief Society Presidency was a perfect calling for me because I was able to know each girl personally. As I was saying goodbye I basically zig-zaged throughout my ward and said goodbye to all of my friends. It was for sure a sad day. I didn't like it, but I know I am going to make many new friends! Well that is all for now.

I LOVE RELIEF SOCIETY

Last night and this morning was such a blast! We had our Relief Society Retreat/Birthday Celebration. We had cake, candy, yummy cinnamon rolls (that Sister Olson was so kind to make), played Rollick, watch Tangled, and talked for hours like girls do. This morning we woke up had a breakfast and a quick devotional. It was a nice and sweet ending seeing as all of us were exhausted!

We had a pretty great turn out to it too! We had about a solid 15-20 at all times and probably close to 30 that showed up for a least some parts! It was such a relief to plan something and have so many people show up for it. Plus I just love our ward and the girls who are in it! This year has really been such a blessing for me. My calling has changed me in more ways that I could have ever imagined. Last year I hardly knew anyone in my ward except for maybe 8 people out of my apartment and that is just because I spent a lot of time my second semester in the apartment above me. This year I made it a goal to really get to know each girl in my ward and for the most part I am pretty sure I did just that. I am going to miss all of our girls so much! It is crazy how close you can get to a group of people and love them all individually so much! The only bad part about having the retreat so late is everyone bonded so well and now it is about time for us to all leave. To be honest I don't want to leave because I love everyone so much.

However, I know life must go on. Lucky for me though some of the girls will be coming back to Snow next year while I am finishing my last semester here. Plus I have be invited by a bunch of them to spend time with them and their families because I will be here this summer instead of going back home to San Diego (I'm trying to get Utah Residency.. eh not sure how I feel about this one).

I love our ward and am so grateful for the amazing bishopric we have! I love our bishop so much and have really grown close to him these past two years. It will be really sad next year because I don't think I will be in his ward since I am moving over to C building instead of being in B. However, I know they always welcome their house up for me and have told me plenty of times to come on over and how I always have a place to go whenever I need. Oh how I love bishop and his wife! I really admire and look up to his wife! She is one AMAZING LADY! (Who also took this pictures, the video was kinda filmed by a little bit of everyone).

My life this last month

Do you want to know what has been going on in my grand life this last month?!!! If not please stop reading, but if you want to know keep reading because I did some grand stuff!!!

The start of this month was spring break and instead of going home for the break I went on a four credit backpacking and kayaking class! It was such a blast! We went to St. George, Camp Meed to the Arizona hot springs, and visited Vegas for a night! Yes you read right, we went to Vegas on a school backpacking trip!

Here is the short version of the trip: We backpacked at this cool place until it started to rain/snow on us so we had to travel about two hours down the mountain in mud to get down to the bottom. Of course I loved this, but the other girls didn't think it was as fun haha. We played a new card game (well at least for me and a couple other of us) called idiot! Oh it is the most addicting game ever and we pretty much played that a scum all trip. I brought four decks with me because always on camping trips I always want to play cards!

Needless to say it was a great idea! We also meet a crazy man, but I won't go into details with that. I'll just say he was for sure CRAZY and we were all kind of scared including our teacher. We stayed together for the rest of the night or at least had six people with us. We also meet our fair share of animals! One night while playing Idiot two rats decided they wanted to play with us and one just so happened to sit on the girlliest girl there haha! It was sooo funny!

The whole trip was a blast! We became pretty close as a group because we only had about 12 students on the trip. I sure did miss everyone once I came home and slept in my own bed and didn't wake up with them all around.

Of course I have been playing sports like crazy as always and I share that before so I won't go into detail about that now. However, now I am on an Ultimate Frisbee and Softball team now. :-)

Wednesday and yesterday were a blast too! One of my roommates from last fall came down and boy did I miss her! Carlee came down for Western Swing Wednesday and so we went and then of course got yummy Snow Creams after! Goodness I forgot how much I loved swing seeing as I have been slacking this semester and haven't gone since October before she came. :-/ However, this problem will be fixed for the rest of the year. Anyways at Swing we spent a lot of time with Sam, a guy who lives across the hall from me, and his two friends that came down for the night and the next day.

They invited us to go Four Wheeling with them yesterday and that was a blast! I skipped my class to go (which was just circuit training so it wasn't a big deal to miss plus Carlee was there right?) They were so cool to invite us and not only did we we go Four Wheeling but we also went shooting, into the mines, and off roading! It was such a blast! I have always loved Four Wheeling, but yesterday I decided to go a little bit crazy. I went off a big hill/jump and was able to get all four of the wheels off the ground on my second try and I also flipped the Four Wheeler, which was my first time ever doing that! Of course when I told my mom about yesterday all she could say was "Remember no dangerous things"... haha sorry mommy!

I am so GLAD they invited us and that I missed class to go spend more time with Carlee and the boys. Such a fun day! As you can see from the pictures I got a little muddy and I won't even go into the details of what my shower looked like after!

This month has been a blast and these next few weeks of school is looking to being just the same. However, I am going to be doing more school work and actually attending class. :-)

Positive in Caitlan's Life

This week has been filled with POSITIVE experiences for me! Heavenly Father has serious blessed me so much! I have never been a person who has been loyal saying my prayers all the time let alone day and night. However, I really have been trying and wow He is really blessing me and I believe a big part of that is due to this change. Ready for the positives in my life?!!!! I sure love this:

1) FHE was at brother Lusty's house for my group this week and we were feed a yummy non-college meal! Aka I didn't have pasta or a sandwich or some sort of food like that and I didn't have to cook either. Needless to say it was GRAND!

2) My mom called me on Monday with crazy news that she was going to LA the next day, which before made me extremely worried, but that night I was to tired I couldn't even worry. I got a little more awake after that for about 5 minutes as I was writing in my journal, saying my prayers, brushing my teeth,etc the normal night time stuff. Then I was out!

3) Tuesday I woke up, said a real sincere prayer for my mom and started a half day fast. (I couldn't do a whole day fast because I was playing soccer that night and needed some water and food in me to play.)

4) My dad constantly sent me updates on how my mom was doing and every time it was great news!

5) Tuesday was my busiest day ever so I had no time to really worry about my mom. I was busy and going from homework to homework to class to more homework to soccer to back to homework to spending a little time with friends here and there. Heavenly Father for sure made me have an extremely busy day and I know it was no coincidence!!! (Last time this happened I went crazy and it wasn't too good for me).

6) All of Tuesday I was relaxed and boy that was a blessing because I was seriously in deep with homework... and my mom, but that is A-Okay! ;-)

7) Wednesday I turned in all of my homework on time, well almost all I didn't turn in math on time.

8) I watched Tangled for the fourth time with to of my really great friends, Chantel and Allie! We also had rice, crab, and some yummy veggies! It was great!

9) When I returned Tangled back to B10, an apartment of girls in my ward, I stayed up talking to them for a very long time and it was AWESOME! Two of those girls in that apartment I'm going to be rooming with next year and I can't be more happy!

10) Yesterday it felt like SD weather! I wore shorts flip flops and wasn't cold!

11) I was able to talk with a girl who really is struggling and I think I actually made a small impact to help her!!! She is in my racquetball class and institute and I just really felt like I needed to talk with her. I was amazing how she actually wanted to and did talk to me!

12) I went visiting teaching yesterday and we missed one of my favorite girls we VT. I was so sad because she told me she was going to be home so I sent her a message saying this "I'm mad at you". It was just one of those funny text.

13) Little to my surprise she came over about 10 minutes later and we talked for a couple solid hours! It was soooo wonderful to catch up with her and I loved every minute of it!

14) Today I might be going to the temple!

15) I get to spend the weekend with the Aegerter's!

16) It is general conference weekend!

17) I should be getting my own copy of Tangled today! :-D :-D :-D

WAHOO thank goodness for the tender mercies and miracles my Heavenly Father gives me! I love life even though there are some trials, looking at the positives is always so much better! Hope everyone else out there is having a great week too! If it hasn't been the best look at the few positives and it is for sure going to make you feel better!
