My amazing week!!!

It all started after youth conference.... On monday the senior didn't have to go to school tell 10 and I had a presentation in my world lit class! I love doing oral speeches/ presentations in front of class! So I did awesome on that and then later we had our lacrosse time against Poway and even though we lost I still played a great game I thought. Then on Tuesday we again didn't have to go to school tell 10 and I got back my grade from my presentation and I got a 196 out of 200!!! It was really exciting! That night I had an award night because one of my teacher nominated me for a Student/staff recognition night thing and what she wrote about me was very sweet! On Wednesday I woke up and went to seminary. We had bagels and played jeopardy which was a very nice way to start my day. We had our normal late start, so we had to be at school at 9:15 and at school it was a very relaxing day because it was just a review day. I also found out that my world lit teacher, who I love, will be receiving the Crystal apple award which my friend and I nominated her for in our Seminary class! I was so exciting and I was literally jumping for joy when she told me they emailed her about it! After school I had my lacrosse game against Carlsbad and we won in overtime and I scored my first goal of the season. I play defense so that is huge for me!!! I also had 3 friends come and watch my game, Heather, Ryan and Josh. After my game my friends and I stayed and watched some of the boys lacrosse game because I hadn't seen them play before. I loved it! Then that all leads up to today where this morning I go to seminary and one of my friends tells me that Josh needs to ask me a couple questions about Prom. So he told me to go into the gym. I then go into the gym and see Josh there with flowers in his hand. He gives them to me one at a time and say "Will you be mine?" It was very cute and of course I said yes! Over all this week has been fantastic and I haven't had homework all week which has been sooooo sweet too!!! I am so excited! Tomorrow I have another lacrosse game against MC and then on Saturday I am going to one of my friends birthday parties and on Sunday I am going to see my niece be blessed! Best Week Ever!!! 

Youth Conference 2009

"Dare to Shine" was our theme this year for youth

 conference and it was so much fun! We had a dance on Friday night outside in our church parking lot, which seems lame but it was actually really fun. The skate provided us with glow sticks and they set up a couple of bonfire pits around us and they played really good music. It was cool too because for the last 30 minutes or so I was just swing dancing! After the dance we had ward devotional and then went to our host families house to spend the night. 

On Saturday we went to the Canyonside preserve by our Stake Center and did a lot of fun service projects. My friends and I racked up all the loose brush around all of the front and under the trees where they have picnic tables set up. It was so much fun because we were able to see the beautiful trees and park that is right next to our houses! I forgot how beautiful that place is because I don't go down as much since I quit soccer. Anyways after the service project we went to another church building and we played a bunch of crazy fun games. One of the games was to "rescue" a dummy man that weighed 185 pound, 4 doll babies, and one stuffed animal dog from a "burning building". It was so cool because they blacked out all of the lights in about a quarter of the building and turned off all of the lights and had us search for the man, babies and the dog. It was so dark and we couldn't see anything (I actually bumped heads with one of my friends and feel on the  floor pretty hard because of it haha)! We also had a really fun obstacle course set up, which we had to do with blindfolds on, and we had to build a fire from scratch with a small group of our friends. After the games we were able to go home about two hours to get changed for the end part of the day. 

On Saturday night we returned in our church clothes and had a nice dinner. We also had a couple of parents who were taking pictures throughout the whole conference and put together a slideshow for us to see. The main mom taking pictures actually was one of my friends mom which was really funny because there ended up being a lot of photos of our group. It was really funny to see all of the pictures and be reminded of everything we did. After we watched the slideshow we had an amazing testimony meeting. I really liked it because everyone kept their testimonies short but to the point. It was amazing because the spirit was so strong and each time someone bore their testimony the spirit just became stronger. Youth conference this year was by far my favorite one! Oh and I forgot to mention our shirts were really bright haha!
