Josh's surprise date night

Josh has been gone a lot these last few weeks. Two weeks ago he went to the Colorado river with his young men's group and that wasn't fun because it was the first time we had been apart since we started dating. However, on Saturday he came back home and we were able to spend time together pretty much the whole day. It was a lot of fun because we went with his family to go see UP, then out to frozen yogurt, and then back to their house to watch more movies. It was nice to spend time with him again especially since he was leaving for EFY two days after that.

 Now EFY was a lot harder for both of us because he didn't want to be there and called/texted a lot. I felt very loved however, I knew he needed to be not talking with me but enjoying EFY. So I tried to not talk to him as much on Wednesday and then not at all on Thursday which worked because he then started to have a lot more fun. =)

 This week was harder for both of us to be gone so I decided to plan a fun surprise date night for the day he got home and it worked perfectly. His family was planning to leave on a trip that night but his parents deiced to not leave tell Sunday so that we could spend some time together. 

His parents and family also tricked Josh all day on Saturday into believing that they were really leaving for their trip that night and had him pack and everything. It was great because he really wanted to spend time with me before they left and was sad that we weren't going to be able to.

 So when I showed up to pick him up and leave for our date he was completely shocked and had the biggest smile on his face (needless to say I also got a big hug)! I then handed him a piece of paper that I partly burned which made him get 10 random things from his house like church clothes, a flashlight, paper plates, etc.

 Some of those things we used on the date and some we didn't. 

As soon as he got everything and put them into a bag we were off! It was so funny

 because he kept on asking me what were the plans and where we were going. He even told me that "he was allergic to surprises so I HAD to tell him" even though of course I didn't until he started to figure out where we were going. 

We went to the beach to watch the sunset, then back to my house to eat chocolate covered strawberries out in my back yard with the heat lamp on and the pool lights under the stars (yeah I kind of went all out), and then to the church dance (which is why I told him to get his church clothes). I also made up a ton of random questions before the date and 

put them onto flash cards so throughout the date I handed them to him and he had to answer them. It was great and we both had a ton of fun! As he put it "I am going to have a hard time to try and top this date"!!! Oh well it was a lot of fun!

 So now he and his family are in Las Vegas and they get back just in time to celebrate the fourth of July and then I think the next person to leave is me for girls camp thank goodness! 

Happy two months!!! =) 

I did it! Graduation 2009

Yup that is right I graduated this year from Westview High School!!! feel excited about graduating and being done. It is a huge bitter sweet experience for me however because I have really made my high school experience a memorable one. I have made such great friends and have been blessed with the BEST TEACHERS! I've had a great support group of teachers since I started out as a freshman and have only gained more as the years went on. I love many of my teachers and have established great relationships with them and even with many of the staff members who I have just been lucky enough to get a relationship with. I am probably more sad to watch me leave those great staff and teachers behind than anything else. I love my friends but those teacher have been a constant throughout all four years and I can not thank them enough!!! 

I love my friends and I am very grateful this year to have been blessed with many great friends! This has been the first year that I really have connected with my 

group of friends and have been blessed to get along with each of them in a more personal level. 

Throughout high school friends have always been a challenge for me and this year I finally was able to overcome it. 

My friends have been sooo supportive, loving, kind, friendly, and just really cool people to be around. A lot of their personalities match mine and I have enjoyed ever minute that I have been able to be around them. I can not thank them enough for everything they have done for me this year and for how much of a difference they have made in my life! I love you guys! 

I have been very fortunate also this year to have a best friend who is pretty much the opposite of me. She has a beautiful voice and is in like all of the top choirs, 

plays the piano extremely well and now teaches it to about 7 students of her own, has been in 

many musicals and plays, and doesn't play any sports... I don't know how we became such great

 friends with all of these differences but, if I were to guess it would have to be the church.

 She is such a great example to me! I can't help but to admire her and for how hard she works at everything she does. She inspires me to try harder and to want to become better. Now I am saying she is perfect because believe me she does have her flaws ;-) but I do really admire her and I am so very thankful that I can call her my best friend! 

Another person who has made a big difference this year has been Josh. Even though we haven't been dating  this whole year he has still made a big 

difference in my life

. I had a great time at Prom with him and it has been so much fun to share a lot of my success 

with him these last few months. I am so grateful for his support and for how well he respects and treats me. For example: After sitting through graduation he gave me beautiful roses and a teddy bear (which is wearing a "lettermen jacket" that says Westivew on the back) 

He has such great manners and has an awesome personality! He has defiantly made a difference in my life and I am so happy that he has been able to be apart of my last memories at Westivew! Of course he doesn't make saying goodbye to Westview any easier because he will be attending a senior in the fall!!! But I am still very happy that he was able to be apart of a lot of my great Westivew memories! 

My last and biggest reason for my success at Westview has to be my amazing family! I could have never overcome any of my friend problems or achieved as much as I did without them. Each one of my siblings has taught me something in my life and has been a hero to me. 

Jeff has taught me how to play soccer and has inspired me to play the guitar! I can't thank him enough for all of the skills and support he has given me with every new sport or hobby I try. He is there with a huge smile encouraging me to be my best! 

Chrisite has been an example to me my whole life! I want to be just like her when I grow up! She has the sweetest, kindest, most loving personality out of anyone that I know! She wants everyone to achieve their highest potential and has let me know that. I can't help but to look at her as my hero who has given me strength and a reason for living. She many times keeps me motivated and pushing through my hard times! 

Stacee has taught me through her example that sometimes it is just better not to learn things by yourself and learn from others mistakes. She probably has had the hardest life out of anyone that I know and yet she still has a fun personality that you can't help but to love. She has also taught me how important my family is to me! I know she hasn't be able to spend as much time with me as most but for some reason I feel that has brought us closer together.

Brett has taught the true meaning of friendship and love. He has been there with me through it all and has never stopped loving and laughing. He is my life! I can't imagine life without my brother always around me laughing at me, crying with me, or just spending time with me. We have a weirdest sibling relationship I have ever known of because of how close we are. There have been many times that people have asked me if we were dating or if he was my best friends and I just laugh every time because most the time they don't believe me when I tell them we are related! 

My parents are a totally different story because I owe everything to them! I have really be able to get close to my parents this year and especially my mom and I wouldn't change it for a thing! I love each one of them more than words can explain. They have supported me fully with every challenge and task I take on. They support me in more ways than I probably realize and I can't help but to praise them! I would have never been able to achieve the awards I have been given without them. They are the reason I have been able to overcome a lot of my learning disabilities and be able to be an academic achiever by getting a 3.82 GPA and never taking an AP class in high school! They are the reason I try so hard in everything I do. They push me to become a better person and help me realize everything that is worth having in life I have to work hard for it. I love all of my family with all of my heart and I am very thankful we are eternal! 

Senior Celebrations

Yup it is that time of the year where every family who has a senior in high school goes crazy. I have attended so many ceremonies these last few weeks and received a couple of real

ly cool awards. Last week we had our Senior Scholarship Awards night and I received my certificate for getting a couple of scholarships. However, that night I also received two unexpected awards: The Female Distinguished Athlete award given by the marines nominated by our athletic director and the Female Wolverine of the Year award. Bo

th awards were such a big surprise to me and it was very exciting for our family. Then on Saturday my class went to Disneyland for our Senior Trip. It was a blast! I had to much fun with all of my friends! Brett also talked my dad into driving him up to Disneyland so he could come with us

. My dad agreed to but I think he just wanted to spend time with his mom as she lives right by disneyland. Anyways it was a very fun trip and we shared many funny experiences. 

Yesterday was our Seminary graduation for church and it was really nice.

 My best friend sang "Remember the Journey" by Jenny Phillips and it was simple beautiful! I also was asked to bear my testimony about the Seminary Program which I think went well. The program was short and sweet but I thought it was very spiritual. 

I am so blessed with all of these great reconditions and for being able to share them with my family and friends. We still have the Senior Breakfast, Picnic, Graduation, and Grad Night to go! Christie and Jeff and their spouse are also coming for the Celebrations and I am very excited to see them!!!
